Discover the Heritage Town of Trim
We are very lucky to be situated in the heart of the heritage town of Trim.
Just a stone’s throw from the mighty Trim Castle, we’ve watched the centuries roll by through our front windows: knights, kings, and film crews alike have wandered our streets. From the gentle flow of the Boyne to the timeless hum of local chatter, Trim’s spirit is one of history well kept and good company well poured.
Here at McCormack’s, we like to think we’re part of that story — where the stout is steady, the welcome is always warm, and visitors become locals before their first pint is done. So whether you’re tracing Norman footsteps or just chasing a bit of craic, pull up a stool and raise a glass to Trim — a town with history in every stone and hospitality in every heart. Here are our top tips for making the most of your stay.
Trim Town Itineraries
Best place for a coffee
We might be best known for pulling pints, not pouring lattes, but around here we know a good cup of coffee when we taste one. Trim’s full of charm — and full of great spots for your caffeine fix.
If you’re out for a stroll by the castle, pop into Stonewall Coffee — they serve up a cracking cup with a friendly smile. Coffee Works does a lovely brew and a sweet treat or two to go with it. And if you’re in town early, Harvest Home Bakery is a cosy spot to start your morning right.
Of course, once you’ve had your coffee and soaked up the heritage, we’ll have a seat waiting for you here at McCormack’s — where the coffee turns to Guinness and the chat never ends.

Best place for food
We might be the spot for a good pint and a bit of craic, but we know our way around Trim’s food scene too — and trust us, you’ll eat well in our heritage town.
Breakfast: Start your day right with a hearty feed at Harvest Home Bakery or Kenny & Co — both serve up proper breakfasts that’ll set you up for exploring the castle and beyond.
Lunch: When midday hunger hits, you can’t go wrong with Monto’s for something fresh and filling, or grab a casual bite at The Castle Arch Hotel — perfect for a relaxed catch-up or a pit stop between adventures.
Dinner: As the day winds down, Trim really comes alive. StockHouse Restaurant offers top-notch local produce with a touch of style, while Flambe brings a lively buzz and great flavours to the table. And of course, when you’re ready for a nightcap (or a few), you’ll find the warm glow of McCormack’s Bar waiting for you — good drink, good chat, and maybe a tune or two to finish the night.
Trim’s full of flavour, and we’re proud to be part of it — come hungry, leave happy, and we’ll see you at the bar.
